How to become a member

CATEGORIES & ELIGIBILITY

a) Ordinary Members
(i) A Doctor of Medicine (MD Haematology) of the Postgraduate institute of Medicine of Sri Lanka

(ii) A fellow or a member of a Postgraduate Institute of Pathology which is recognized by the Sri Lanka Medical Council, holding a postgraduate qualification in Haematology.

(iii) A fellow or a member of a Postgraduate Institute of Medicine in Sri Lanka/ aboard which is recognized by the Sri Lanka Medical Council, possessing a postgraduate degree related to Haematology, subject to approval by the Council.

(iv)A person holding a degree diploma in any of the branches of Haematology specified under the primary objects of the College, subject to approval by the council.

b) Associate members
(i) Any medical practitioner registered by the Sri Lanka Medical Council under section 29, chapter 105 of the Medical (Amendment) Act No. 30 of 1987., subject to approval by the Council.

(ii) A person holding a Degree / Diploma in any branch of Haematology specified under
the Primary Objects of the College, subject to approval by the Council.

c) Life members
Any person eligible to be an ordinary member, on payment of a fee decided from time to time by the Council, shall be eligible to be a life member.

d) Overseas Members
Any scientist who has a postgraduate degree in Haematology registered in a Medical Council in his or her own country, which is recognized by the Sri Lanka Medical Council, shall be eligible to be a student member subject to approval by the Council.

e)   Student members
Any person reading for a medical degree in a Medical School recognized by the Sri Lanka Medical Council shall be eligible to be a student member subject to approval by the Council.
Membership Type Fees
Life Rs. 7000.00
Ordinary/ Associate Rs  2500.00 
Student(For  the total Student Period) Rs. 1000.00
 Over Seas £50/ US$80
Payment to be made preferably by cheque in favour of “Sri Lanka College of Haematologists”
